Join us as we hear from our special guest speaker, Dora Vasquez-Hellner. Dora is retired Army First Sergeant who served for over 23 years, from 1977 to 2000. Come at noon and enjoy a light lunch, a short devotional word and a presentation from our special guest.

About the event
Dora Vasquez-Hellner is a retired Army First Sergeant who served for over 23 years, from 1977 to 2000. She is the daughter of a WWII Army Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. Originally from Los Angeles Dora now calls Ashaway her home. She earned her Veterans of Foreign Wars eligibility by serving in Panama during Operation Just Cause. She was in charge of screening operations that handled over 2,000 Panamanian Defense Force soldiers. Her last assignment was with the Military Intelligence Company, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Most notably, she is a paratrooper and gives her thanks on a daily basis to St Michael, patron saint of paratroopers. Her current career is a Veteran Service Representative with the Providence Regional Office, Veterans Benefits Administration. She will share her story with us at our last regularly scheduled S.A.L.T. luncheon of the year.
